About Us

We are Laura and Daniel, and we have been the proud owners of Wold View Farm since 2018.

It has been a dream of ours since our own wedding to help people create wonderful memories for other people – we got married in May 2017 and had a DIY wedding. We hired a venue and cottages which slept our whole wedding party and had a whole weekend celebration. The venue was a blank space and we had to hire everything in. We loved the planning and creating. We dressed the venue ourselves – it was a family affair making bunting and favours and bouquets! It was a truly unique day and we did everything exactly as we wanted to. We really wanted to be able to recreate this for others. As soon as we returned from our honeymoon we put our house up for sale and started the search for a new home with the potential to open a wedding venue. It was really important to us that the place had the possibility of having accommodation as well as a venue. 

We searched for the perfect place for many months and we finally got the keys to Wold View Farm at Easter in 2018. The house and outbuildings were very dilapidated and needed a lot of work. Our first child was due to be born in October 2018 so we started with renovating the house – it had a new roof, new windows, a central heating system, new floors, new bathroom and new kitchen. We also reconfigured the layout – it was a massive project! We moved in 3 weeks before our daughter was born after living in a caravan in the garden for several months.

We then started work on the outbuildings, followed by building the log cabins. Several years, three children and one dog later and we could not be happier. We both now run the business full time and consider ourselves extremely lucky to have turned our dream of in to a reality.
